Welcome

Welcome to EM Therapy

My name is Elizabeth Moran. As a qualified and IACP accredited counsellor, psychotherapist, and addiction specialist, I offer a confidential, safe, and non-judgmental space where your privacy and anonymity are fully respected.

My goal is to provide you with the support you need to work through challenges and move forward in your life.

Everyone encounters difficulties from time to time. While the support of family and friends can often help, it's not always possible to turn to them. You may not want to burden them with your concerns, or you might worry about being judged. At times, you may simply feel isolated or unheard.

This is where therapy can be truly valuable. It offers a unique opportunity to speak openly and in confidence about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences—in a way that's different from everyday conversations with loved ones.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about therapy and working with me.

What can I expect from the first session?

Your first session is a consultation where we get to know each other in a relaxed, confidential setting. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and how I can best support you. There's no pressure — it's about finding the right fit and building trust at your own pace.

How long does therapy typically take?

The duration varies depending on your individual needs and goals. Some clients benefit from a few focused sessions, while others may prefer longer-term support. We'll regularly review your progress together and adjust the plan as needed.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, I offer secure online therapy sessions to clients worldwide. Online therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions and offers the convenience of attending from the comfort of your own home. In-person sessions are also available in Waterford, Ireland.

What is EMDR therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps your brain process traumatic memories in a safe, controlled way. It uses bilateral stimulation to help reduce the emotional charge of difficult memories, leading to lasting relief from symptoms like flashbacks, anxiety, and nightmares.

How much do sessions cost?

Sessions are 60–90 minutes in length. Please contact me directly for current rates. I offer a limited number of sliding-scale slots for those who need financial flexibility — don't hesitate to enquire.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you're struggling with difficult thoughts, emotions, or life circumstances, therapy can help. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit — many people seek therapy to better understand themselves, develop coping strategies, or work through a specific challenge. The initial consultation is a great way to explore whether it feels right for you.
